i think rawr played R/As for 2 reasons.
1) Couldnt make a counter build in enough time (Wish my guild ran my R/A counter build against DirT) so they said "if you cant beat them, join em."
2) Wanted to win monthly with it so ANet would nerf it. (i like this one the best)

1) they did counter it. The counter just so happened to use R/A's. The VoR mesmer and the Necro pretty much destroys the R/A if the hexes are left on because they have to activate attack skills to do anything and a lot of the attacks have 1/2 activations. Since just about everybody I saw was running RC, hex removal was limited and guilds paid heavily for it.
2) Anet took a very long time to nerf Rawr Spike so I wouldn't get your hopes up. Not to mention Linsey said we should expect skill updates bi-monthly from now on, and since we just had one earlier this month, don't expect anything to be touched until October.

I hope Lindsey or whoever does the skill balancing will just roll back the dagger buffs rather than tinkering with them. If there is a single player in guild warz that thinks R/As are a nice addition as is (perhaps toned down some), please make your case.
Anyway, congrats to rawr. I thought for sure someone would break out the lyssa's aura Me/N with reckless, IP and spirit shackles to completely shut down the R/A's but the fervor nec was pretty similar and well played.

Rawr is good at build wars, they run what they need to run to win.

glad to see most of the TA gimmicks (excluding only shove and eda) nicely summed up in the mAT winning build.

Actually, everyone wanted it to get nerfed for the past week or two already.
Everyone except rawr that is.

It cleans up the ladder a bit. Removes several smurfguilds and probably forces guilds to play on their main only. You get a far more active ladder with less waiting before a matches start. I would find that much more interesting than what we have atm. Yes, back in the early days of GW everything was much better.

Hexes + Split + Stance Removal + Rigor + Defile Defenses = GG
much better way to counter and when I run my split build against it, R/As are dead in 3 seconds when they fall on the split.
People need to stop copy pasting other people's builds and make there own for once. gj to GeAr for having honor in the single eliminations.

People would still run smurf guilds after they won 1 gold.

rawr's main guild isn't even on the ladder anymore. So theory broken.

being on the ladder or not has nothing to do with gold cape guilds like rawr and kmd playing in smurfs in the monthly, like the person above me pointed out
the only thing that would fix it would be some kind of incentive to win multiple gold capes on one guild, which at this point there is no incentive at all

Chaos Capes!!!!
But seriously, why does it need to be fixed? since rating doesn't really mean anything I don't see this as a problem. It might be annoying to lose a lot of rating to rawr when they are ranked 500 and not 1, but it isn't like it really matters if you are rank 100 or 300. You can still play in the mAT if you have QP's and that is really all that matters in today's game anyway.

Rawr has won a gold cape on 4 guilds, not 3?
1) Rebel Rising
2) The Cape Is A Lie [Trim]
3) rawr extended edition
4) rawr director's cut
